Modern Art Oxford – Upcoming Events and Exhibitions
Talk – Thursday 24 May 2018 6.30pm — 8.00pm – This Same World Over: Brazilian art history in context
Join Dr Isobel Whitelegg (Research Director, Museum Studies, University of Leicester) for a talk that explores Cinthia Marcelle’s past work, and contextualises her practice in relation to how Brazilian artists have historically navigated between formal concerns and a need to confront social or political demands.
Workshop – 1 June – 3 June 2018 – Processions
Modern Art Oxford is working with 8 local textile artists alongside lead practitioner Nicola Donovan to collectively design and create a single banner, representing women and their ideas, concerns and hopes for the future.
The banner will be exhibited as one of 100 banners created for PROCESSIONS, a nationwide artwork celebrating the centenary of the UK Government passing legislation granting the first few women the right to vote.
Music – Friday 15 June 2018 8.00pm – 10.00pm – Future Perfect & Modern Art Oxford presents: Candy Says + Michael Fox

Exhibition – 16 June — 9 September 2018 – A Slice through the World: Contemporary Artists’ Drawings
Modern Art Oxford and Drawing Room jointly present A Slice through the World: Contemporary Artists’ Drawings, a group exhibition that celebrates the sustained power of drawing in the digital age.
