HOUSEBUILDER FULFILS OXFORDSHIRE PRIMARY SCHOOL’S READING WISHES

In recognition of National Share a Story Month (May), leading housebuilder David Wilson Homes has donated a collection of books to Benson C of E Primary School in Wallingford.

The donation consisted of £200 worth of books from the school’s reading wish list, which will be used to create a wider selection of choice among its school library.

National Share a Story Month, which is organised by the Federation of Children’s Book Groups, is a celebration of the power of storytelling, aiming to encourage young people to develop a love of books and reading.

Sarah Launchbury-Rainey, Assistant Headteacher at Benson C of E Primary School, said: “A donation of books like these is brilliant. They’ll engage the children in their topic learning and build enthusiasm for reading!”

Titles such as the highly rated ‘The Land of Neverbelieve’ by Norman Messenger and ‘The Variety of Life’ by Nicola Davies were among the books donated to Benson C of E Primary School.

Emma Hawkins, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “We hope that our donation of books to Benson C of E Primary School will encourage more young people to pick up a book and enjoy getting lost in a great story.”

David Wilson Homes is currently building nearby to Benson C of E Primary School at its Chiltern Grange development in Benson.
