Who’s in the Woodshed? My Skin Your Skin with Laura Henry-Allain MBE

4 February @ 11:00 am - 11:45 am

£8

Join Laura Henry-Allain MBE as she reads her new picture My Skin Your Skin and shares her favourite stories from her CBeebies series Jo Jo and Gran Gran.

My Skin Your Skin is a powerful book to help children and adults have meaningful discussions about race and anti-racism. Most importantly, the book empowers children to be the best versions of themselves; to have self-love, self-esteem and self-worth, irrespective of their skin colour.

Jo Jo & Gran Gran is the first British-made animated show to feature a black family at its centre. It is based on characters created by Laura Henry-Allain, whose own grandmother inspired the character of Gran Gran. JoJo adores her grandma, Gran Gran, and they love to spend time together while JoJo’s Mummy and Daddy are at work. Gran Gran always has something exciting planned when JoJo comes to visit.

The event will be followed by a book signing.

Ages 3+.

Under 1s are free, but will require a ‘lap’ ticket, which can either by booked in advance by calling us, or on arrival by informing a staff member at the Welcome Desk.
