Discovery of Belonging: Finding Connection in an Age of Isolation

We only belong if we belong together.

In a time when we are more connected than ever before, why are we so disconnected? How do we build belonging?

You are invited to a conversation between Kim Samuel, visiting scholar at the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative OPHI, visiting research fellow at Green Templeton College, and author of ‘On Belonging: Finding Connection in an Age of Isolation’ and +Father Erik Varden, Bishop of Trondheim, Author of “The Shattering of Loneliness”, at the Sheldonian Theatre on Sunday 5th March, 4pm–5.30pm.

Kim Samuel and +Father Erik Varden will discuss the crucial roles that community and faith play in the journey toward finding belonging, how belonging is not a need but a right for all, and the importance of continuing to find our way to one another in a fractured world. Questions from the audience are welcome after the discussion.
