Tea Time with Hatter & Hare

1 July @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

£20

Join us for Alice’s Day when our Walled Garden will be transformed into a magical Wonderland.

The Mad Hatter & March Hare return to the Gardens for the annual celebrations of Alice Day with Tea Time with Hatter & Hare. Join WhatNot Theatre for a new sparkling adventure as we take a tumbling down the rabbit hole to find our absurd Hatter & Hare still sipping tea and swapping seats. Wander through Wonderland as our eccentric yet charming pair re-tell the tales of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland…with more costume changes than you could shake a croquet stick at! Encounter the grinning Cheshire Cat, the furious Queen of Hearts, a nervous White Rabbit and an all knowing Caterpillar, with escapades, a jam tart treasure hunt, a Lobster Quadrille and games galore.

WhatNot Theatre brings all the fun and foolishness in their award winning show, Tea Time with Hatter & Hare. This is a relaxed performance, accessible and suitable for all the family involving audience participation from the comfort of your own picnic blanket. But beware, the Queen of Hearts may demand more…Bring a blanket, a picnic (Hatter particularly enjoys jam sandwiches) and your curiosity. A prize will be awarded to the best dressed Wonderland character.

WhatNot Theatre will share three unique performances. Get creative and learn to dance the Lobster Quadrille at 11am, take part in the Queen’s Croquet Match at 1pm, or join our treasure hunt and discover Who Stole the Tarts from 3pm.

Your ticket for the event includes entry to the Garden all day so you can arrive before the performance for which you are booked and stay as long as you like afterwards. We are open as normal from 10am until close.
