Super Storytelling workshop with Allen Fatimaharan

Immerse yourself in imaginative worlds with the multi award-nominated illustrator and animator Allen Fatimaharan.

Bookworms, doodlers and daydreamers – join this creative storytelling workshop where you will create your own imaginative world alongside a professional illustrator and animator, Allen Fatimaharan.

Allen will expertly guide you through creating your very own illustrations and crafting your own story. This workshop will let you share ideas, try new things and even create some work to display as part of our exhibition, A Way of Life: The People behind St Giles.

This workshop is suitable for children 6 to 12`. Child must be supervised by an adult during the workshop. Adults go free with a child’s ticket. Click here for tickets to the 12.30 workshop.

Allen Fatimaharan is a freelance illustrator and animator working mainly in children’s books, editorial illustration and educational animation. As well as comics, motion graphics, and storyboards. A recent World Book Day Illustrator, he has been lucky enough to work on lots of wonderful projects. The first picture book he illustrated, ‘My Hair’ written by Hannah Lee was nominated for the 2020 CILIP Kate Greenaway medal for illustration, longlisted for the 2020 Klaus Flugge prize, shortlisted for the 2020 Booktrust’s Storytime Prize and won the 2022 Quiz Writers’ Choice Awards. It was read as a CBeebies Bedtime Story by Motsi Mabuse in 2022.

Access:

There is step-free, level entry access to the Town Hall is via the entrance closest to Carfax (to the left of the main steps as you face the Town Hall). Inside the Museum, Museum Makers is accessible via a platform lift to the Galleries and then via stairs.

Accessible toilets are available in the Museum (close to Museum Makers) and in the Town Hall on the ground floor, before entering the Museum. Please contact the Museum team if you’d like to talk to a member of staff about your access requirements.
