LEADING BRITISH CONTEMPORARY ARTIST KURT JACKSON BRINGS EXCLUSIVE EXHIBITION TO THE BASE, GREENHAM
The Base, Greenham are welcoming a brand-new, never been seen before exhibition by British leading contemporary artist Kurt Jackson from Friday 9 June until Sunday 6 August.
Kurt Jackson Oxford University graduate presents, River – a 40 Year Project, which explores rivers and reflections, drawing together examples of Jackson’s many different river projects to show the variety of locations with their topographic and geophysical diversity. It will delve into his varying artistic approaches in terms of medium and scale, as well as the changes and evolution of his technique over time.
Along with the exhibition, The Base is also hosting workshops inspired by Kurt Jackson’s River exhibition for adults and young people to get involved and deepen visitors’ engagement of his work. The adult courses range from creating your own riverscape by Experimenting with Mixed Media (24 Jun) to exploring recycled materials and how we can use art to support and protect our environment, Mini Masterpieces with Recycled Materials (26 Jul). Parents and carers can also enjoy this fresh exhibition with their little ones as the Arts Centre holds Songs and Stories in the Gallery on Thursday 15 June and Saturday 1 July where they can enjoy thirty minutes of stories and nursery rhymes inspired by the art, as well as an Americano or a pot of tea from the onsite Café, all included in the ticket price.
Additionally, on Thursday 13 July there is a Relaxed Day, welcoming everyone into a quieter environment with reduced visitor numbers, so that it is accessible for all. Relaxed Days are designed for those on the autism spectrum or anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed atmosphere.
