Hagerty Hangout: International Women’s Day

Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Come and join TV host and journalist Charlotte Vowden as we mark International Women’s Day

Come and join us for International Women’s Day

We’ll be celebrating women with a passion for classic cars and bikes with TV host and journalist, Charlotte Vowden.

Meet fellow classic lovers as well as key figures from the industry – makers, members of the media, mechanics and more.

Host Charlotte Vowden breaks down the day:

“From 3pm

Park up and show some appreciation for the cars on show, before joining me in the Clubhouse to meet the world’s first female tetraplegic racing driver, Nathalie McGloin. You’ll have the chance to master a new skill with TV’s classic car trimmer Freya Read, as well as the opportunity to take one of The Little Car Company’s teeny vehicles out for a test drive around the site. Curious about classic EVs? Weigh up the pros and cons, and take a closer look at a classic that’s already undergone the switch with Vic Crofts from Electrogenic. Feeling peckish after a little healthy debate? Artisan baker IcedMaiden will be selling a selection of her incredible car-themed treats. From cakes to canvas, Fine Art student Lily Crabtree, whose work focuses on her love of classic cars, will be showcasing a selection of her latest pieces, and asking you to share your automotive stories – you never know, it might inspire her next work of art.

From 5.30pm

It’s time to take a seat and join Nathalie and I for a heart-to-heart. Having broken her neck in a car crash when she was 16, Nathalie is completely paralysed from the chest down yet she competes, and wins, against able-bodied men. To help other disabled drivers Nathalie co-founded the charity Spinal Track. Some of the remarkable women who have taken part in the free track days and rally experiences that the not-for-profit organises will be joining us for a panel discussion.

This is the first time I’ve organised an event for International Women’s Day and it will be a safe space for all; everyone is welcome to come. If I know you, I can’t wait to see you again, and if we’ve never met, I look forward to saying hello! Thanks in advance for your support.”

Tickets are priced at £10 per person, with £5 from each ticket being donated to Spinal Track.
