Goat Milking Induction

3rd October 2024 at 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Learn how to milk goats as the first step towards our Goat Milking Programme!

Join us for a couple of hours here at the farm with our goats to learn how to milk them. Bradley will be on hand to talk you through it and answer any questions you may have. This session is the first step towards joining our goat milking programme.

Our goats are milked twice a day at 8am and at 6pm (these times are not flexible to ensure the animals welfare). There are 2 milking slots available in the morning and 2 at 6pm, so 4 milking slots per day. The minimum commitment is one slot per week. Each milking shift takes around 30 to 45 minutes. The goat milking programme cost is £70 per year* which helps us cover the costs of animal feed and care, and the £10 fee for the ticket to this training session will be deducted from the programme cost if you join up.

(*please do get in touch if you are experiencing financial difficulties and wish to join the programme.)

No dogs allowed on the Farm.

Oxford City Farm is a smoke-free site.

There is NO parking available inside the Farm. We kindly ask visitors not to park in the Care Home parking.

How to find the Farm:

Look for the Isis Care Home car parking entrance on Cornwallis street, and walk to the green gate at the end of it. That is the entrance of the Farm.

There is NO parking available inside the Farm. We kindly ask visitors not to park in the Care Home parking.

Thank you!

Refund policy

We aim to keep course costs as low and accessible with many of our events being pay what you feel. The courses we run help us to raise crucial untied funds to enable us to grow our work with the wider community such as our free to access Community Farming Sessions.

For events under £15 or pay what you feel the ticket price is non-refundable but tickets can be transferred.

For events over £15, we will refund you if you contact us 48 hours before the event to cancel. Please note that the Eventbrite fees are non-refundable (usually around 10%).

In the exceptional circumstances where we need to cancel the event (staff sickness; extreme weather) then we will get in touch to ask if you would like a full refund including the Eventbrite fees or if you would be happy to donate your fee to charitable aims of the Farm.
