Cowley Road International Food Tour

East Oxford is the energetic, cosmopolitan side of town, and Cowley Road is its commercial heart. The food shops along Cowley Road are an amazing display of diversity. In less than a kilometre, you’ll find ingredients from Ghana, Morocco, Lebanon, Turkey, Italy, Lithuania, Russia, Korea, Thailand, Bangladesh and Brazil.

How did this area acquire such a richness of culinary treasures? On this tour, you’ll learn about the history of East Oxford. You’ll meet some special, hard-to-find ingredients and find out how to use them. And you’ll hear some stories of the shopkeepers that make Cowley Road so unique.

This 100-minute walking tour highlights 18 wonderful food shops on Cowley Road between the Plain roundabout and Divinity Road.
