Caterpillars, rabbits and birds: family workshop about wildlife and words

Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join Oxford Poetry Library for a family workshop and walk inspired by the natural world on our doorstep.

This event is part of Alice’s Day, a city-wide celebration of all things Alice in Wonderland.

Oxford Poetry Library is delighted to bring you this family-friendly workshop all about poetry and nature, inspired by the flora and fauna of Alice in Wonderland! Spend time exploring the magical and sometimes mysterious world of nature, gather ideas on a wander through Christ Church meadow and return to MOX to write your own poems.

Part of this workshop takes place outside; we recommend dressing appropriately for the changeable Oxford weather. This will involve a walk of approximately an hour around Christ Church meadow. The route is suitable for wheelchair users. Please contact cdrohan@oxford.gov.uk if you would like to discuss any specific access requirements or concerns.

The schedule will include short comfort breaks; families are welcome to eat in the Musuem Makers space. Food and drink will not be provided.

Children must be supervised by a parent or carer at all times. We recommend this workshop for children aged 7 and up.

Due to workshop capacity, we can only offer one free adult place per paying child. This is included with the the ‘one child’ ticket. We have a limited number of additional adult tickets for sale, valid only with a paying child ticket.
