Coro de Clave is a name that was given to choirs that proliferated in the black communities of Western Cuba from the last part of the 1800s until around 1920. They were mobile ensembles, often amassing over 100 members and would compete with other neighbouring groups. A community group called Bombo Productions has revived and transferred this beautiful idea of community singing to this century and expanded the repertoire to include other Cuban-based styles.
On Saturday, 18th November, from 6pm, entry will be free for all who want to come to St Barnabas Church, to celebrate the end of the project with a concert of the participants with a band, followed by a party with Latin music played by a DJ, cash bar and street food. To make sure we have enough food and drinks, please let us know you’re coming at trybooking.co.uk/CVCJ
Tickets for the workshops start at £70 and include: 1. expert facilitated workshops of 12 hours total 2. a performance with Coro de Clave band 3. pre recorded learning materials for you to enjoy
