Blackwell’s Bookshop – Half Price Book Offers

Blackwell’s on Broad Street Open Again After Lockdown

We’ve taken lots of careful precautions to make sure that we are keeping everyone safe. Customers have told us that the precautions that we’ve taken have given them reassurance so that they can browse happily.

Half Price this weekend (4/5 July) in the Broad Street bookshop on three of our favourite books right now:

Humankind by Rutger Bregman

This is just the book that we all need – a hopeful history that uncovers how if we can collectively seek the best of our human nature we can all have a hopeful future. I doubted it’s optimism at first but was left feeling buoyant and excited about the future of humanity throughout. A truly magnificent book. – David

Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens

You can’t help but become utterly engrossed in this absorbing story – part drama, part thriller – about Kya Clark, a young girl who grows up in horribly deprived circumstances, and becomes a woman whose stomping ground is the natural world of the marshes of the North Carolina coast. And then she becomes embroiled in the death of a young man. – Rebecca

Cari Mora by Thomas Harris

From the author of the fiendish ‘Silence of the Lambs’ comes a taut and menacing thriller, full of cartel gold, macabre movie sets and criminal gangsters. It’s not Hannibal Lecter who casts a shadow over this novel but Pablo Escobar, whose Miami Beach mansion is the setting for a superbly chilling read. Definitely one to get your teeth into. Read with a nice glass of Chianti. – Charlie
